Life Well, there wouldn't be any reason to be excited if the effect weren't greater for at-risk students. Also, keep in mind that even though the experiment was costly, the intervention itself is very cheap (takes less than an hour of student time and doesn't require teacher training). So...if it's not doing anybody any harm and is providing a benefit to students most at risk of under-performing, why not?

Step 1: Set a SMART goal The thing is, if you are thinking wistfully about how great life would be if you had wealth (or a great body, etc), you’re not doing anything to reach that point. You’re just wishing your life away.
If you are a heart surgeon and your patient dies on the operating table, you’re gonna say, “Oh, the patient was in bad shape. Oh, there wasn’t enough time. Oh, it was hard to see. The incision wasn’t very clean…” You blame your failures on things that are outside your control. But by watching a surgery you are less personally invested in you are able to be objective. “Oh, they did that wrong. Note to self. I shouldn’t do that.”
Deep down you know money won’t make you happy, yet you chase it because everyone else on the hamster wheel is doing the same. The harsh truth is that meaning and purpose (which sound corny) are far more powerful than money will ever be.

In many times we let our ego take over control of our behavior. Whenever somebody hurts us, whenever we hear “no” to our request, whenever we get rejected. We start activating to protect our ego, we become proud. The problem with that, is what our ego wants at such moments is rarely what’s good for you in the long run.
